These are applied to new and existing products giving customers a sense of pride and style when going to the beach, relaxing at home or settling their baby.

All product ranges translate fluidly into each other enabling us to bring the beach home, or the home to the beach. Creating beach style for the first time in history, GOLDNBROWN understands the desire to look and feel good at the beach where memories are made and dreams come true.

GOLDNBROWN is proud to bring to you some of the world’s oldest fabric designs and methods combined with current trend and style. By uniting these generations, we deliver a magical match made in heaven exuding colour, design and stunning pieces.

In 2011, the ‘beach ∙ baby ∙ home’ range is inspired by what is referred to as “Batik”. Stunning handmade textiles featuring vibrant and bold color schemes.

Batik origins can be traced back to Asia, India and Africa. The word is of Malay roots and translates "to write" or "to dot". GOLDNBROWN products feature hundreds of small dots or patterns to create a story of birds, wildlife and nature. Look closely and pass on the secret tale written in your favorite GOLDNBROWN piece to your little one.

Batik is an art medium and methodology for creating design, usually on cloth, by applying wax to portions of the material and then dyeing it, then removing the wax. This is done to create vibrant colors and incredible designs some even custom made for GOLDNBROWN.

There are over 5,000 recorded Batik designs in the world. No 2 Batiks are the same and the beauty of these one-off designs – are a must have this season.

Batik is said to be an ancient art that has been handed down for thousands of years. It is as wide spread as the Middle East, Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Thailand, Philippines, India and more.

Although the exact origins of Batik are unknown, it is most common on the island of Java, Indonesia. When the art of Batik was first practiced in Java, Batik belonged only to royalty and families of wealth and position. It was a hobby for the royal woman. Aristocrats and royalty had certain designs identifying a family, social status or geographical location. These designs have survived to this day and it is believed that certain patterns have special meanings and are thought to bring the wearer good luck, wealth, prosperity and good health.

We hope your GOLDNBROWN piece brings you happiness, prosperity, good luck and wellbeing.

Please always remember that GOLDNBROWN products are all hand made and friendly to not only the environment but the people that bring them to life.
